Transportation for out of town guests

Hello! I need some advice. I am planning a wedding with 150 guests and I want to have the wedding ceremony and the reception at two different places that are about 45 mins away from each other. We have a lot of out of town guests coming for the wedding and I know that travelling to different venues can be a pain in the butt anyways. Does anyone know what the rates for party buses are and will it be more of a help or a hindrance to have this bus take them from the ceremony to the reception and then back? Won't everyone have to come/go at the same time? Is it weird to provide a huge party bus for some of the guests and not the others? Should I just get two so that way more guests can choose this option?HELP! I'm just trying to come up with the best way to transport guests without making them feel uncomfortable or burdened. Thanks,Melanie

We had a school bus for our OOT guests and almost no one used it (I think it was $400ish - we used First Student).  Our guests preferred to find their own way around.

Melanie Millet - I have the same problem, half of our guests will be flying in from Illinois (where FI is from) and I would prefer not to put them all in a situation where they need to rent cars.  Black Tie Limo offers some great options for a guest shuttle but I'm not sure about pricing.

We are shuttling people from their hotels to the ceremony/reception b/c we don't want people drinking and driving on back country mountain roads!  We are using Abby Limo and Grace Limo (it was cheaper to split it up rather than pay for a driver to sit while the ceremony/ reception was going on).

Hi - A few thoughts.  We're doing the school buses too.  It was the cheapest option and they didn't charge us for the downtime b/c they just went home.Check with your hotel.  I believe the Hampton Inn near the BVI has a shuttle b/c it is near the airport.  We didn't stay there for the wedding we attended, but I believe the hotel offered the shuttle with room block.Good luck!
