So a friend of mine (known since age 6, she is a BM in my wedding) has been engaged for a while and has been very back and forth on the plans. She just hasn't settled on anything, until last night. Her mom took over the planning, basically.
She tells me that the wedding will be in FL on the beach, about 7 hours away from me. It will take me almost $200 in gas to get there and back, plus a hotel room for a night or two, a gift, something to wear...
I love her to death but I would have appreciated more notice! To boot, it's the weekend before I start back to college. My FI can't come because it's too short notice to ask off from work, so I'll be traveling alone.
Would I be awful for not going? I want to be there, but she has really made this a bit stressful money-wise.
