Double Layer Veil

So I got a cathedral length double layer veil, the second layer is finger tip length. I liked it because of the fullness. Now I realize the top layer is meant to be warn as a blusher...I don't care to do this.  Did anyone else wear a double layer veil without using the second shorter layer as a blusher? I am hoping people won't think it looks funny.

Re: Double Layer Veil

  • Its completely up to you whether or not you want to use the blusher. You don't HAVE to use it and I also don't think it will look funny if you don't. I understand what you're trying to accomplish with the fullness and I think its completely appropriate. The blusher might be cute/useful to drape over yourself and your hubby in pictures though :)

  • I got the same type of veil because I wanted a lot of fullness. I only used the blusher to walk down the aisle; after that it was back. I didn't even think twice about it and I'm sure none of my guests did either. I didn't know this, but they come in "double wide" fullness too (basically twice the amount of tulle attached to the comb-this is what mine was). If you really dislike the idea of the blusher, maybe you could exchange your veil for a single-layer that is double wide.

  • The top layer does not have to be worn as a blusher.  It is completely optional if you choose to wear it that way.
