How to Use Blue??

Hello ladies!

I need some advice on picking a color for my wedding.  I have always been a blue kinda gal but I'm having a hard time picking blue decorations that don't look cheesy or overly blue.  How do I incorporate blue so that it looks classy and elegant?

Re: How to Use Blue??

  • My daughter used blue paired with silver and ivory...it looked very elegant.  I think it makes a big difference what shade of blue you choose.
  •  I asked the bridesmaids to wear navy with yellow flowers and touches of gold for an evening wedding in a ball room.

My cousin used pale blue dresses with coral flowers for a daytime wedding at the beach.

Have you selected a venue yet?  The venue leads the direction of your wedding.
  • My wedding color is cobalt blue, silver, and black. So far I got the BM dresses in blue and silver peeptoe pumps. GM are wearing black tux with blue ties. FI is wearing an all white tux with sliver jacket and tie. As for me my nails will be done French mani with a silver, and cobalt blue line above the white tip. Hope This helps
  • i agree that the shade makes all the difference.  Navy tends to be more formal, while sky and cobalt lend themselves towards a summery feel.

Try colourlovers.com to help you match colors together.  I wanted some sort of red/burgundy to go with Black and Ivory, and I used that site to nail down the exact shade =)
  • Im using blue and yellow.  I'm having a summer wedding and my bridesmaids will be in light blue and my MOH's will be in a darker blue, not navy it's called Mediterranian blue.  They will cary yellow flowers and the centerpieces will be yellow as well.  I'm keeping the tables white and yellow but I'm going to add blue paper lanterns in dark and light shades.

    Good luck!
