Etsy dresses?

Anyone order their dress from Etsy? I'm in contact with a designer right now and so far, it's been an extremely positive experience.

With Etsy, I'm sure the experience is based on the designer but I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for dealing with custom dresses online...what questions did you ask? Am I taking too big of a risk?

first I'd send out test questions and see how quickly and how well they are answered, second, I'd be measured by a seamstress to ensure your measurements, next I'd ask for a sample of dress fabric if they are providing it, otherwise this is a great option for a unique dress

I've been toying with the idea of getting a custom made dress from an Etsy seller as well. I'm scared, but I feel like it would be awesome to have a one-of-a-kind dress! What sellers are you in contact with?

I think it is a risk, but the info left in feedback should be a good indicator...

I am in the same boat. I found a dress on Etsy that I absolutely love! And I love that it is different than many of the other dresses I have found. And it is much cheaper than a designer gown. About $500, rather than the thousands I could spend. Here is a link if you want to check it out:

I am also slightly hesitant to order the dress, especially because it takes about 2 to 3 months to get, and if I don't like it at that point, I am awfully close to the wedding date to change my mind.

I'll probably spend the next few days contemplating. LOL.
