How early do designers release their seasonal collections?

I'm getting married in September 2011, and would like to have an autumnal wedding--and many of the summer bridesmaids dresses I've seen don't seem seasonally appropriate.

As I've looked around, though, I've noticed that many of the designers (Jordan, Dessy, etc) only release their fall collections in June! Is this normal, or am I looking in the wrong place? How early do designers usually release their fall collection of bridesmaids' dresses? And if it really is only a few months in advance, how on earth should I work around only having those three months?

Re: How early do designers release their seasonal collections?

  • i'm getting married around the same time and started shopping but i was told the fall collection comes out mid-july. so i'm waiting till august to continue my search in case anything new comes out that i like. though i've found that wedding dresses aren't really seasonal per say. there are styles from fall collections that i've seen online that are very summer appropriate and vice versa. you definitely should order a dress at least 6 months in advance.
