I am not long engaged, and we haven't decided on a location/date yet, so there aren't many wedding-details that I can start to plan, yet, but I have recently been obsessed with my dress/look.
I have this idea in my head to have a gown customed made, based off of one of my favorite wedding dresses: one I saw on one of my favorite tv shows. Out of curiosity, I e-mailed a local dress-maker about a quote for doing something of this nature, and the price point is doable for me.
But now, I guess, I wonder what other bride's opinions are of having a gown custom made. Has anyone done this? Reasons that you didn't do this? If someone has done this, did you feel that you 'missed out' on trying on dresses, or did you feel like you already had the perfect dress and just had to wait for it to be made?
