Need to know what color Bridesmaids dress compliments my dress!!

I am having a bit of a dilemma.  I found the dress of my dreams but it is ivory with slight hints of cocoa on the top.  It is beautiful and flows together beautifully.  The problem is that I am stuck between 2 different colors.  I am trying to decide which color goes better with the dress.  I am doing a September 2011 wedding outside.  Please let me know what you think would look better!

  • How slight are the hints of cocoa?  I couldn't see them in the picture.
  • I personally like the clover green...the cornflower color in person is not nearly as bright as it is on the website. Good luck! :)

  • I vote clover. Typically warmer colors look better with ivory, and cool colors look better with pure white.

But please, PLEASE.. give yourself the best gift and please don't support David's Bridal. There are actual bridal books that instruct brides NOT to go there. They use the cheapest most horrid fabrics that fall apart. I am a seamstress of many many years I have studied fashion in Europe and I understand and LOVE a bargain. But  those dresses are anything but a bargain! They are not worth the money the poor bridesmaids will have to pay for them. I absolutely hate altering David's dresses because they are made SO incredibly CHEAPLY that I have to redo a lot of the terrible sewing that they have done. I can't tell you enough what a mistake it is. Find out how much it costs to get alterations at David's because not only is it way too expensive, they do terrible work! It is not fashion it is not creative, it is not classy. David's Bridal is just shameful! I know you want better than that for your bridesmaids and for the overall elegant feel of your wedding. Cheap doesnt have to LOOK cheap. I LOVE when a bride can stay on a budget but LOOK like she spent so much more than she really did. You can do better I absolutely promise you.

I have worked the bridal industry many many years and I can absolutely guarantee whatever generic dress you found at David's, is actually available through many other designers in much much better quality and service!! This comment is not meant at all to insult YOU, but that Horrid STORE! As someone in the industry-- I couldn't give any better advice than to tell you don't go to David's!

I wish you the very very best of everything in planning your special day!
  • I think the clover is MUCH better.  I wore a dress in that color, for my best friends wedding...it's very complemenatary to many different skintones and hair colors. ;)  LOVE your dress, btw.  It's absolutely gorgeous!
