Is this too much for an older bride

I am asking this on behalf of my futur mother in law who is renewing her vows. I think she should wear bright fuschia shoes with her ivory gown and also her reception dress which is light mocha with a silk overlay that is ivory. She thinks it is not age appropriate. She is 46, but I swear she looks 10 years younger. I think it is totally age appropriate and I keep telling her that everyone is doing it. What do you think?

Re: Is this too much for an older bride

  • I don't see it as inappropriate, but shouldn't she be the one who likes it? If she doesn't like it , who cares?
  • Why fushia?  Is this to match something?  I am just two years younger that your FMIL and although she may look young, you do reach a certain age where "been there, wore that" sets in.  If she loves the shoes then by all means she should go for it... however, if the idea is being pushed on her I would let it go.
  • Well she loves the idea, just isn't sure because of her age. This is a small, southern wedding.
  • :)   My opinion is to go for it!  I wasn't worried about my shoes being age appropriate (I have a pair of 4" BLINGED sandals.  I was more worried with the skirt of my dress being tooo "poofy". For me a poofy dress was age inappropriate!  Its really cute learning what each bride states to focus on!  We do expect to see some photos!
  • I do not think that fushia is an age problem, the problem is why would she want to wear that  color. not getting it or feeling it
