men's ivory tuxedo

wondering if there would be any problem with my fiance wearing an ivory tux. his mother says no way, but my dress is ivory with a gold lace overlay over the whole gown and I think an ivory tux might look nice with it. However, i may have no idea what im talking about! :) Thanks!

  • What does he want to wear?  This isn't really for you or his mother to decide.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • I don't get the attitude that absolutely NO ONE but the groom should have any say in his attire.  My fiance and I discuss everything and come to a consensus.

Obviously the final decision is his, but it is perfectly reasonable for a bride and even the groom's mother to voice her opinion on his attire.

I mean all of the wedding party's looks should coordinate in general formality and style.

As for the ivory tux, If you are talking about an (off)white dinner jacket, or a linnen suit or some other classic look at a summer wedding, then I like that look.  Otherwise I think the whole white suit/tux thing looks cheesy.
