Best time of year to dress shop?

I'm not getting married until 2014, so I have PLENTY of time to dress shop. I don't care about getting the trendiest/designer gown, just something that looks good on me for a reasonable price. Is there a particular month/season that's best for getting a great deal? (Kinda like getting a great deal on a nice coat when buying in the spring) Any advice is appreciated

  • David's Bridal has their $99 sale once or twice a year.  Plus I know they put some on clearance online.  If you're looking for more of a "Mom & Pop" salon for a more individual help kind of feel then I would suggest getting on a couple of salon's email lists so they can let you know when there are trunk sales or sample sales.  Because the wedding industry is year round I don't think there's any particular time for sales.  Just be aware that designers usually have a spring and fall collection.
