Shoes or no shoes?

I'm having a beach wedding with a ballroom reception and can not figure out what to do about shoes. I don't mind being barefoot on the beach but at the reception I need to be in heels. Can I have my dress heamed or both? Any suggestions?

You can't have your dress hemmed for both barefoot and high heels.  You can get a kitten heel or a two inch heel.  Your dress will just be a little off the ground when you're dancing but that should be looked at as a bonus.

  • I have 3 inch heels for the ceremony, and I bought a pair of platform sandals that were comparable within half an inch so that my dress hem isn't totally off.  If you are going to go barefoot, I'd find a nice pair of kitten heels or flats like PP said.

  • Besides having a tea-length or high-low hem dress, you just kinda gotta pick one heighth or the other.

I would just go barefoot on the beach and wear a low-heel (or flat) at the reception.

  • Why not some satin ballet flats? That is what I'm doing for my reception(barefoot for the beach ceremony with the cutest barefoot sandals).
