Sash for my dress matching...

I have a green sash for my dress, the same green as the bridesmaids's dresses. It is also one of our wedding colors.

My fiance has picked out his attire, and is pretty dead set on a blue tie (one of our OTHER colors). I told him I would preffer a green one, as it matches "something" on my dress. I didn't want to give too much away! My fav color = green, his = blue.

While I think the colors look nice together, I had it in my head that his tie would match my sash. I can just imagine the photos... Tell me it's ok that it doesn't match :(

Re: Sash for my dress matching...

  • It is perfectly OK that it doesn't match. My suggestion to you would be maybe incorporate the blue he is wearing on his tie into your bouquet somehow. Either with blue flowers or a blue ribbon tied around it. That would be a pretty easy fix to get things to look "put together"

    Don't stress!! :)

  • It is totally OK if you dont match. But if you are worried about pics, would you be able to swap out your sash to match his tie? Or can you incorporate his blue into your bouquet like pp suggested and green in his boutonniere?
  • LOVE the green in the boutonniere idea! :)

  • Thank you for making me feel better! My bouquet is blue! We are having custom made artist "flowers" so I choose to have them be blue : And since they are custom, I can def have some green put into his arrangement!
  • See! No problems! :) Everything is going to be absolutely beautiful--and I'm sure your groom will appreciate having at least SOME say in your big day...you'd be surprised at the little things men pick and choose to be specific and stubborn on. For example, my fiance is one of the "just tell me when and where to show up and what to wear" types, but he was ADAMANT about having red velvet cake.
