Ordering Wedding gown online

Has anyone ordered their wedding gown online?  Would it be a good idea? I found my dress online for $300 cheaper.

It depends on what site you order from. There are several reputable ones such as netbride.com, which I got my dress from and saved $$ on, chrissyo.com, pearls place and rk bridal. I ordered my bridesmaid's dresses from Chrissy O and saved a nice amount of money on them too. My wedding dress came in a month earlier than promised from netbride and it is NWT. My bridesmaid dresses are supposed to be here within 10 days from Chrissy O. All of the stores I mentioned have brick and mortar stores and get great reviews on here. So, is it one of these stores?

I've heard great things about netbride too. 2 of the dresses I was thinking about getting were $500-700 cheaper through them. And not only do they get great reviews here, but they have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau (since 2005). The BBB is my new favorite wedding resource!

I found my dress at bestbridalprices.com for $280 cheaper.  It should be arriving by next week so I will post something if things don't turn out well.  Oh AND I got a free veil and pair of shoes!

I'm getting a quote from netbride.  What about houseofbrides.com? I've gotton bridesmaid dresses there before.

if you're going to order online it's best that you already know what dress and size you want/need. for instance davids bridal carries many "wedding dresses" in the same style as their bridesmaids dresses. so you could go into the store and try on a bridesmaid dress to see how the look and fit would be before purchasing. i ordered several dresses online and ended up returning mos of them. the rest i couldn't return, so they went to good will. the main thing is that even if you get a quality dress you have no idea how it will look on you until you try it on.

I would totally endorse ordering from Pearl's Place as they seem to have the best rep. Also my experiences with them was perfect.

I do not recommend Gioavonni's Bridal Boutique. They made a horrible replica dress that was nothing like the designer one it was supposed to imitate.
