Not happy with dress right now...

After my second fitting and was thrilled the dress fit me. Then I looked at the pictures I wasn't happy. I have small hips and a wide waist so I end up looking WIDE (please ignore the grumpy look and bags under my eyes). I think it needs to be brought in a bit more around my legs... what do you think? Opinions please!

Re: Not happy with dress right now...

  • I think it looks great as is... I would think that if you take it in around the legs it would make your hips/waist look bigger.
  • I would get it taken in a little bit as well, but make sure you can still walk/sit comfortably.

  • I agree with you. I think if you take it in it'll give you more of an houglass silhouette. Gorgeous dress- who's the designer?
  • Thank you ladies! I'm going to have to talk to my seamstress next time I go in. The dress is "Baile" from San Patrick for Pronovias.
  • I didn't realize what the yellow arrows were, I thought the dress already had that shape.  Disregard my previous post, I agree you should take that part in.
  • I think it looks amazing but i do see where you are talking about.  I would get it taken in as much as you can with it still being comfortable.  You look gorgeous!
  • I like it as is, it's nice a balanced right now - if you take the legs in too much (picture of back) it emphazises the wide waist. That's what I see anyways. If you take it in - just to a teeny little bit, not as much as the pic.
  • Okay, so you look like you have about the same body shape as me- small hips, a bit wider shoulders.  That *doesn't* mean you have a wide waist.  Seriously.  You look great.  I would take it in just a smidge at the legs, because it will accentuate your shape and make it look more curvy, rather than make your waist look 'wide'.  your dress is beautiful, btw!
  • 1. You look stunning in it2.  I would get them to take it in at the thigh as you've suggested, I had a similar shaped ball gown from rina di montella and had this same issue, but one they nipped it in at the thigh it had a really lovely hourglass shape.Sorry just seen the bit about looking WIDE???? you don't look wide! at all!
