Need Knottie help! Have you seen a dress like this...

Hi everyone! I need help!!  I've found two dresses that I like, but they're by different designers...and havng the dress custom made is now out of the question (I found really bad reviews/references on the woman who I had hired to create it).  I'm completely bummed out, and now totally panicked! PLEASE HELP!! Does anyone know of a dress that has the top of this dress (the lace sweetheart neckline and the cinched waist being the most important parts: http://weddings.theknot.com/weddingdress/bs_results_localpop.aspx?newsearch=Y&Status=A&path1=&path2=designer&GownType=1&DesignerID=696&item=7&pop=y But with the silk taffeta and full, ballroom skirt (box pleats all around) of this dress? First off, thank you SO SO much to the super kind knotties who have helped me on the search!    The bridal salon where I found the PERFECT top to the dress won’t tell you who the designer of the dresses are, or what style number it is.  They even cut out the tags in the dresses.  SO, I LOVE the top to one dress, but can’t figure out who makes it (or if I can change the bottom of the dress). Anybody ever encountered this?  Any ideas on how to figure out what the dress is?   The lace was alcenon, and the fabric was silk taffeta, and it ran around $2150.  It was lace on top (like the first link I posted), but had a sage colored crossover bodice, but the color could be changed. The owner said that designer liked natural fabrics…any ideas on who it might be?   Also, I have LOVED your suggestions, but I forgot two things: -I’m not a beading type person, so other than the cross of the cinched waist and the lace on the sweetheart neckline, I wouldn’t want any beading   -Because of my figure, I can’t do anything that resembles a drop waist because I look HUGE!     Thank you SO much everyone!!  I owe you all a million!  I just hope I’ll be able to get something figured out ASAP!!

The one you tried on sounds very similar to Paloma Blanca style 3754.   www.PalomaBlanca.com A friend of mine wore it with the crossover waist in just ivory satin instead of the green and it was really pretty and I know its about the price range of the one you tried.  Good Luck!

Wow....this sounds like me last year ! If you were able to find both of those for a good price ( T2T, ebay, craigslist, RK, Pearl's, etc), you could always do what I did & just combine the 2 !  By looking at the top of the dress you posted, it wouldn't be all that difficult. I actually have never sewn anything besides pillows before & was able to do mine. You need to be bold & go in with no fear if you undertake it Pics in my blog of the creation of my Franken-gown.

Paloma Blanca also likes natural fabris, I tried on one this weekend and the bridal shop told me that, I was also going to suggest that it was probably style 3754 with the green crossover.
