anyone order from netbride/pearls?

If so, where did you get measured?  I feel bad going into a store where I am not buying and having them measure me (if they even would?).   I would need the dress cut hollow to hem, which is the measurement that worries me, because you can't alter that very much after the fact.

Re: anyone order from netbride/pearls?

  • I ordered from Pearls.  I measured myself.  My dress didnt have a hollow to hem measurement required.  I ordered a Wtoo dress.  When I called she asked how tall i was to see if it was long enough but that was about all.
  • Do you know anyone (or do one of your parents/ friends, etc?) who is a seamstress, or has experience with making clothes?  I measured myself, but not for h2h bc I didn't need it.  If not, you could always go a bit longer rather than shorter, and you could still get it altered.
  • I ordered bridesmaid dresses from there. If you're feeling guilty about having a different store do your measurements, why not have a friend take them for you? It's not that hard....Have her take a tape measurer around the largest part of your boobs (make sure the tape is laying flat on your back and that it's level with the front)Then find the skinniest part of your middle (waist) and do the same. Then put your feet together and find the widest part of your legs. This is your hip measurement, and believe me it's never right on your hips.

  • I was measured by my alterations person. But if you email Pearlsplace.com they will send you some tips and size charts. Also they are a wonderful place to order.
