Petite brides- Spanx?

For brides w/ a smaller frame...are you using spanx...can you see a difference? I have a very form fitting dress. It's not thin material...but all of these raves about spanx got me wondering if I should wear something under my gown. I hadn't even thought of it. I was planning to just have cups sewn in and go w/ a lace thong. Any ideas?

I didn't wear anything like that under my dress even though it was pretty form fitting.  I did try something similar to Spanx, but it was a huge pain getting it on and off. I was also worried that if I had to use the restroom, it would be impossible (the Spanx supposedly have an open spot in the crotch area to make it easier, but I've heard it doesn't help much... lol).

Forget to mention that I didn't really notice a difference when I tried it on under my dress.  I guess it would have smoothed things out a little but not enough to make me want to wear it lol.

Thanks Kappa! I was thinking about asking you this. I think it would probably be a waste w/my dress. It would probably be nice for a dress w/a slinky material...but I can't imagine that it would make much of a difference w/my dress, I didn't even THINK about the bathroom! lol

petite bride here, with a fitted dress... and definitely not using spanxx.  my mom tried to get me to even try it, but my consultant and seamstress both said it would not make a difference that would be worth the hassle.  They said that while spanx can work wonders, if you can get away without it you make your day a lot easier!  plus, i'm getting married in the middle of august and its probably going to be really hot, so the less layers I need to have on my body the better!!for my dress they sewed in cups and I'm going to wear cute blue lace undies

I'm not wearing spanx, but I AM wearing one of those torture-strapless-bras, the ones with 8347658 snaps in the back, that start at the waist? They SUCK to wear (I'll just have to practice) but I have no hips at all, so if I squeeze my waist in a little more it makes me look like a real girl! (Instead of a 12 year old boy lol)

Oh- thanks! I'm pretty excited for it, we had a really hard time finding a venue that wasn't too formal and ornate for our style- I'm so excited to decorate that place

Definitely not wearing them (have a pretty form-fitting dress)--to me, they are uncomfortabl--and make me feel like I have to pee!
