How to tie up corset style?

We finally got my dress in...Maggie's Estella. Are you supposed to lace from top to bottom or bottom to top? (My mom is arguing with me on this one. lol)

Top to bottom...the extra ribbon should be at the bottom when you're done.

Yea, I can't imagine it bottom to top, that would look really silly, imo.

My alterationist also gave me a tip for lacing... if you start from the top and lace loosely all the way to the bottom, then tighten up from starting from the top and moving to the bottom, its a lot easier on the person doing all the cinching.  But yeah, you definitely start at the top and tuck the excess in the bottom (or tie a bow if you like that look).  I also had a maggie dress and tucked it in.
