Dress alterations...

OK, these may seem like silly questions, but I am a natural stressor about details.  I have read that wedding dresses are typically shortened from the waist, but my dress is solid and doesn't have a waist, will it be shortened from the bottom then?  And, if so, how does this affect the train?  Last question:  I am not a huge fan of a train/bustle but fell in love with a dress with a small train.  Has anyone ever had the train removed?  Thanks!

Re: Dress alterations...

  • My dress was shortened fro the hem and the train was still the same length (as in not longer than before). I'm sure that trains can be removed on some dresses. I think if I waned to remove the train on my dress it would have looked fine because there was no beading or details on the skirt.

  • Ditto, mine was shortened from the hem. Alterations were done at Davids Bridal and it seemed that they did all of their alterations that way.
