Bridesmaid dress...Help! :)

I originally planned on having my bridesmaids in yellow...buttttt we went to a bridal shop and found this adorable Bill Levkoff dress in ivory with a black sash. We immediately fell in love with it....the style, color, everything.  So my question is...would it be weird if my bridesmaids wore the same color as me? I am also wearing ivory.  I've posted a link so you can see my sister in the dress. I think an all ivory look can be beautiful and classic. Eveyone will know who the bride is, don't worry

I think the whole marrying the groom thing will ensure you stand out no matter what colour your bridesmaids wear! I love monochromatic bridal parties - I think it's very chic and modern looking. And those dresses are short - you're likely wearing long? That's a pretty big distinction. I say go for it. Ivory tends to look better on most people than yellow, anyway, and yellow can be a tricky shade to find.

Just some more encouragement... One of my good friends was the MOH in her sister's wedding, and she had everyone wear a white dress too. They bought a roll of fushia ribbon and made sashes for all of the bridesmaids, and they all looked beautiful The men usually all wear the same colour, and the groom never worries about standing out!

I think the pictures mbcdefg posted are pretty! I like this idea. I googled it trying to find more photos and found out that it's actually more traditional. Bridesmaids used to be dressed exactly like the bride and were used as decoys.

LOVE the dress and I actually adore all white weddings. I think it looks so beautiful when all the BM"s are in the same color. The sashes will really set them apart from you. Ifyou love it, go for it!

One of the bridal magazines I have has an article about all-white weddings.  I guess that this was really normal at some point, and the trend is coming back in style.  I think it's a wonderful idea, and you will stand out in pics because you'll be in a fancier dress and will be the most gorgeous one there.
