Wedding dress shops in Chicago and suburbs

I'm looking for a simple, but elegant/nice (and hopefully rather inexpensive), gown for my wedding. Does anyone have suggestions of places to look in Chicago or the surrounding suburbs?

I ended up buying my dress in NC where my mom lives but I originally planned on buying here- and postedo n the Chicago local board and got lots of good suggestions.  Most were in the suburbs though- one place that I remember getting recommended a lot was in Wheeling and I think it was called the Bride's Room or something similar.  But try the Chicago board.Anyways, I also wanted a simple but elegant gown and ended up with Mori Lee #4209.  I was pleased with a lot of dresses from that group and mine was only $525 so Mori Lee might be a line to check out!

Try Bridal Elegance in Ottawa. Mostly inexpensive - normal prices and a large variety.

I got my dress for a great price at a sample sale at Kasia's (6039 W. Irving Park Rd.). They have a huge selection! A friend of mine got her dress there earlier this year (not a sample sale) for a reasonable price. The people are very nice and helpful but not pushy, so it's worth making an appointment and checking it out.

I purchased my gown at Eva's (in Orland, but there is another--not affiliated) Eva's in Oak Lawn). Loved my sales associate (Judy), and she was able to get the price of my Pronovias gown down from $1240 to $860.

I just bought my dress yesterday at House of Brides in Schaumburg. It is HUGE and they have hundreds of designers. Anywhere from 200+. They have nice inexpensive dresses and also thousands of dollar-couture ones. I definitely would recommend going here if you are looking on the inexpensive side too. I was even offered $100 off on headpeices, 30% off for my bridesmaid dresses, and a discount on tuxes. (they have it all there, and a flower shop and invitation shop all inside)

Wedding Belles in Barrington.  It's a sample store so the dresses are super affordable.  I had a great experience there!
