  • Well the cost of shipping depends on a couple factors- who you use (USPS, UPS, etc.), the weight of the package, the buyer's zip code, etc. I used to sell on Ebay all the time, and I always used the shipping calculator option which is better IMO because then the buyers can see that you aren't trying to rip them off.  Just make sure you charge enough for handling/shipping supplies and insurance.

  • I sold a friend's Maggie Sottero on Ebay 5 years ago after her engagement broke off. If you have never sold anything on Ebay before, you may want to ask a good (trusted) friend who has an established Ebay account to post these items for you. IMO people tend to shy away from Ebay "newbies" especially on more expensive items, simply because you haven't sold anything and dont have feedback from any buyers. Not to say it's impossible, but just a bit more difficult. Anyway setting up an auction on there is pretty easy, just create an account and then go on there and click on "Sell an item" and follow the steps. You can set it up where your buyer can purchase the item through paypal (hope you have a paypal account, it's pretty essential in the ebay world today), and you can also set up the shipping calculator so once the buyer is determined, their zip code is used to calculate shipping. I would strongly recommend offering FREE shipping but building the shipping into the price of the dress. You might want to do an average - like if you think on average, the dress costs $15 to ship, then sell your dress for $115 instead of $100 and offer free shipping. "Free shipping" really grabs people's attention, they think they are getting something for nothing ;)  Also keep in mind you'll have to pay a fee to ebay for the sale, and paypal will take out a chunk too... GL!
