how long for alterations?

Hi ladies!I just got my dress on Friday. Having lost 20 lbs since I bought it (in January), it is about 3 sizes too big. . It needs about 2 inches on each side taken in, and it needs to be shortened about 4 inches.I am freaking out. The wedding is October 24. Please tell me I can get these alterations done, and have the requisite fittings and adjustments made in time? Thanks!

You should have time...as long as your starting that process asap, you'll be okay.

I am pretty sure it will be done in time. Mine is only taking 3 weeks to get altered.

Yes get it into a good seamtress ASAP!  I thought it wouldn't take that long either and it's already been three weeks and I haven't been in for my first fitting yet!
