Buying dresses online

Hi, I'm new to the baords so please frgive me if I don't totally understand how things work around here. I'm wondering if anyone can give me advice about buying wedding dresses online. Things like safe sites and what to look out for. I found the dress I would really like at Buyer100.com, so if anyone has advice about that site specificaly that would be great. I'm just starting out looking for dresses so thanks for any help.

Re: Buying dresses online

  • i bought my beautiful authentic maggie sottero gown on ebay. i was one of the lucky rides that didin't experience a nightmmare with the seller. Make sure you do your research with any site! They might sell knock offs! If you go on ebay check their seller score. You might even want to call the service number they give you and see how well they treat you. hope i helped a little!
  • Who is the designer of the dress you like? A lot of girls on here will recommend Pearls Place, Net Bride, and Jay's Bridal. All of these stores sell 100% authentic dresses and will give you the lowest price possible (that the designer will allow). I got my Casablanca dress from Jay's.

  • Hey Nikki,I believe that buyer100.com sells knock-offs, so I wouldn't trust that site for THE dress (I did see somewhere online that a bride used this website for her reception dress and didn't mind it was a little cheap looking).  I second what jagore says, Pearl's Place and Netbride are good.  I've also heard RK bridal is good, they're a store that sells authentic dresses at a low price in NYC, but you can call them for a price quote.
  • The dress I'm looking at is an older design from LeaAnn Belter, the Audrey. I wouldn't really mind a knock off if it looked nice, but the real thing is my first choice. Thanks for the tips I'll definitely check out those sites.

  • buyer100 was a nightmare. they almost took my money and ran. thankfully i charged the dress order (6 BM dresses and 1 wedding dress) on the Amex, and I was able to dispute the charges to get my money back.they are crooks and do juvenile unprofessional work.full review of them in my planning bio in the Vendor section.
  • If you want actual designer for cheaper... go to oncewed.com or preownedweddingdresses.com. You can always go try the actual dress on in a bridal store...and buy used. That's one way to save.If you don't care about designer and want a knock off, I would check Ebay. I bought one dress from China that was beautiful but didn't fit me like I wanted (not their problem, just not the right style, it's a Jim Hjelm 8800 knockoff). I just got another dress that I bought from Little Coral online (they have their own site, I did a 'make an offer' through Ebay and got it for $60 less than posted. I LOVE the dress, more than many designer dresses I tried on, and it's made to my size. Just do this early so you can have another option if you don't care for it. My dress took under 35 days from order to in my hands. Good luck!
