Destination dress for non-destination wedding

I like a Destinations by Maggie Sottero dress (Style JD8102), but I'm not having a destination wedding.  Before I went to try on and possibly buy the dress I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be committing some faux-paus by wearing this at my wedding.  I'm on a tight budget and it's half the price of a "normal" wedding dress, which is pretty nice, too!

Re: Destination dress for non-destination wedding

  • I think as long as you are having a relatively informal wedding and it suits the venue/feel of the wedding, go for it! I don't think it's a faux pas to wear a dress from a DW line for a 'regular' wedding.
  • I guarantee you (and possibly other brides) will be the only ones who know it's from a DW line.
  • Ok good, thanks for alleviating my fears!
  • Absolutely not! It's your wedding (and your fi's) if you wanted to wear a tutu and bunny slippers, you could. LOL I say do what you feel comfortable with. :) Besides, that gown is beautiful and will work for even a semi-formal wedding, IMO.
