dress worries

This past weekend I went shopping for wedding dresses with my Dad and future mother in law (my mother passed away last year so my fiance's mother is stepping in to help more) I tried on dresses at 3 different shops ALL day tons of dresses. Then towards the end of the day I found this gorgeous dress. I loved it, my Dad (for the first time all day) got emotional about the dress and told me it was "the one". I was ready to order that dress right then, (I didn't want to take it off), but decided to sleep on it. I still think the dress is the one, but for some reason now I'm starting to wonder if I should have tried on more dresses before choosing and am afraid I'm remembering the dress more perfect than it really was on me. Has anyone else had these kinds of worries about their dress after they chose their dress? Is this normal?

Re: dress worries

  • Totally normal, I think.  Try it on again with a fresh clear head and see what you think (trying on dresses ALL DAY is bound to make one more emotional by the end of the day).
  • I think that it is quite normal for people to question something so important as picking out your wedding dress. I would suggest going back to the store by yourself, or with a friend and see if you get the same "Its the one" feeling you did before. However, no matter what dress you choose, you will feel like beautiful on your wedding day, no matter what. Hope this helps some!
  • Definately try it on a second time: when I did that i knew no doubt about it.  It was my dress
  • Totally normal.  I felt like crying when I ordered my dress...not because I was emotional but because I was so doubtful!  Now, after several months, I'm happy I chose the dress. Go back and try it on and see how you feel in it again.  I think it was a smart idea on your part to sleep on it though!
  • I agree with pp's.  This is totally normal.  It's good that you decided to sleep on it.  I'd suggest you go back and try on the dress.  Maybe bring a pen and paper and write down what you love about it.  If you think you need to try on more dresses, then just do it.  No big deal.  I ordered the first dress I tried on ever.  I  ended up sleeping on it and trying on more dresses, but I couldn't help comparing them to the first one so I went back and tried that one on, and guess what?  It was as beautiful and perfect as I remembered.  So whatever works to make you confident about your decision, just do it and then come back and show us pictures of the dress you choose!  Good luck.
