Black wedding dress

Hi everyone!  I have a quick question for you.  I have decided to wear a black evening dress for my evening wedding.  I look much better in black than white.  I am getting some grief from friends and family.  Should i change my mind and wear a white/champagne/off white you name it dress.  This is my second marriage.  I am looking forward to hearing back from my peers.  Thank you.

I would say do what makes you happy.  If you feel good in black then wear black!

Hi! I am also wearing a black wedding dress, (never been married before) and I think it's an awesome idea! Don't let people change your mind because they don't like it.

DO NOT let others change you mind. If you want black, wear black. I've seen some GORGEOUS black gowns, that still look very "bridal".

During my dress shopping ordeal I found white dresses with black flowers on them and they are so pretty.

I suggest that you do what makes you happy.  I am wearing a pink wedding dress and this is my first wedding!  In the early 70's my mom wore a tea-length wrap dress with huge red male and female symbols on it, and my mom still looks back on her wedding pictures with pride of her counter-culture self.  Look, if traditional is your thing, then I would support that 100%, but why would you wear white when you look so good in black?  Good luck with everything.

Sarah Jessica Parker wore a black dress for her wedding.  However, she really regretted it later, saying if she could do it over, she'd do it in white.  Up to you though, cause if it's your second wedding, you already know some things you would've changed about your first, right?

If you like black, go for it. If you want white you could maybe add a black sash.

There are so many gorgeous black gowns out there, here are a few I just found on a google search...Black Beauty Bustle Gown by Stephanie Madeshand there was a bride on this board a while back who wore this melissa sweet dress I say go for it!

Thank you everyone who replied back to me, i had decided not to change my mind.  This time around it's about what my fiance and I want to do, and I AM wearing the black gown.  It was soooooo nice to read your responses and uplifting words.  And if i do say soooo, i do look absoultely devine.  LOL.  Again, thank you so much.
