I like number 2 better, with the ball gown style I think that you get lost a little in all of the fabric plus the beadwork

I actually like #1, I like the lace detail. I'm not too fond of the shiny material of #2.

I'm also not fond of the shiny fabric of #2.  My vote goes to #1.  I love lace.

i looooooooove #1 - that's one of my favorite dresses right now.  you should definitely get that one, no question!!!

I really prefer #2. I love the delicate beading on it. I like the top of #1 but the bottom of it is just a little busy for such a large dress. My eyes are drawn automatically to the bottom of that dress and not how you look in it and in dress #2 I notice you and how nice you look in the dress. I hope that helps and makes sense.

I love #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It's hard cause I get get to see the front or back view of #2 but it does look a bit too shiny.  And I LOVE dupioni silk (I'm putting my BMs in it) but with that much fabric it's too much. #1 has beautiful lace detail and enough going on for that much material but not too much....beautiful, feminine and flattering!!

I hope I'm not too late in the game to throw my two cents in -- but I [b]love[/b] #1. It was my dream dress--Justin Alexander 9551, right?! It's gorgeous on you!!

You're definitely not too late to the party. It's Justin Alexander 9552. What did you end up with?Thanks for the opinions everyone.  I love the top of dress #2 but haven't decided if the bottom is too plain or not.  The designer said she could add a band of lace to the bottom, but I don't know what that would look like.  I like the material (I don't like satin, so I've only been looking at non-satin dresses).  Dress #1 is a lot bigger overall and I worry that FI won't like it very much (he likes slim A-lines, which I don't like at all).If it makes a difference, the wedding is (fingers crossed) an outdoor wedding.

I ended up with JA 8313---part of my heart still belong to 9552--but the dress shop I got my gown at had already sold it so I never got to try it on. It's so regal--especially with the lace top!! let us know which one you decide on. btw--by FI is like yours...he likes A line gowns better--and I dont. Oh well!!
