sew cups in dress?

is it possible to have cups sewn into this dress?  the seamless long line bra im wearing gives my bust a bit too much "oomph" (in my opinion) and causes the strip of beading to not lay flat. im hoping that sewing cups in will fit that problem, but im afraid the dress wont hold everything in because the back of the dress dips down a bit. what do you think?

Re: sew cups in dress?

 • depends on the size of your cup...my dress shop only recommends cups for size A & B girls.  I was hoping for cups, but I'm bigger than that.

 • If you're comfortable going braless, I would go for it. I'm a large B, small C and I got cups sewn into my dress. I feel it gives a much more seamless look. No weird bumps or creases from a bra.I was also in a wedding this July and had cups sewn into that dress also bc the back of the dress was quite low and I couldnt find a bra that was low enough. Everything stayed exactly where it was supposed to all night.
 • I didn't like how a long (down to bellybutton) strapless bra worked so I wore a regular one. It stayed in place fine (I'm a D).

 • I had cups sewn in my dress. It was perfect. I didn't have to worry about anything slipping down and it was one less thing for me to put on.

 • I don't see why you couldn't have them sewn in. Talk to a seamstress about it. And FYI people usually recommend not using David's Bridal for alterations. They tend to be overpriced and not that good.

 • I had my first fitting this wk and they're sewing in B cups. My dress has a low back so it definitly saves me money trying to find a bra to accommodate that!

 • I'm a D and I had cups sewn in and I was fine. I was completely secured and didn't fall out.

 • thanks ladies! im def going to ask my seamstress about putting them it, it seems like less of a hassle than finding that perfect bra. and more comfortable! :)
 • The boob part of my dress has a deep dip in it and my seamstress is gong to sew cups in to give them a little lift without having to wear a bra.
 • I definately recommend getting cups sewn in if you can.  It is one of the few things I would have done differently.  I had such a hassle looking for the right bra, it cost a fortune and it was not super comfortable.
