Pics of tiara/veil with glasses

So my FI had knee surgery so there went the $ for my eye exam & contacts for the wedding!I bought the tiara & veil with the color accent to match my dress but now I"m not liking the tiara with my glasses. It makes me woozy thinking of how much it was from D's Br and it not be used - maybe my 11 yr old cousin (Jr. BM) could wear it? Is it usual to wear the veil all through the reception too or do you take it out and just have your updo? I won't be able to do hairstyle runs until the week prior to the wedding because I'm in FL and the wedding's in PA.Any pics and ideas to comfort this inconvienance would be great! Thanks!

Re: Pics of tiara/veil with glasses

  • Do you absolutely NEED your glasses to see?  Dumb question, but are you basically blind or are things just blurry?  If things are just a bit blurry, I would go without the glasses for the ceremony and pictures.  After that, who cares.  Wear it all...nobody will notice at that point what matches. On a separate note...did you pay for your FI's knee surgery out of pocket?  And I'm not sure of your eye doctor, but if you go to Walmart contact eye exams are only $50-70, and they would probably give you a trial pair of contacts.  GL
  • I would price out the contacts, they shouldn't be that expensive.

  • I took my veil out after the ceremony and first dance.

  • This pic os from my Best friends weddign 3 years ago. Sha always wears glasses, and says they are paet of her "look". She wore a tiara and a veil, and left the veil on through the entire reception.
  • Bellabride2b: Thanks for the pic she has inspired me! She looks great! My FI said today that he didn't fall in love with my glasses and he likes me the way I am... so yeah plus I'm not used to contacts anyways and with mascara and tears ummm yeah that'd be trouble with contacts ha ha more than I need!
  • I searched high and low for pictures of brides with glasses and there are NONE!  Women who get married apparently don't wear glasses.  Or is it women who wear glasses don't get married? LOL!  I wear glasses all the time, and hate contacts, but I also don't really like pictures of me with my glasses on, so I am going to wear contacts.  And probably rip them out as soon as the reception is over before we even get in the car.Plus, my other thought was that glasses can really date a photo... I look at my glasses from when I was in high school and I'm like OMG, what the h??  I know hair and dress also date a photo, but I just pictured my glasses from the 80s and thought, there's no way I want to look back on these photos 20 years from now and see something as rediculous as that, LOL.
  • Bellabride, thanks for posting that pic of your friend! I just bought my dress and I've been a little worried that my glasses, which I wear all the time, will look odd with the whole wedding look. But your friend looked so cute! My FI has only known me with glasses and thinks I look funny without them, so I'm wearing them, but now I won't be as self-conscious about it!
