Ebay China Dress - Final results

For anyone who was following my little Ebay China dress saga... the final results are that I decided not to wear it :-(  At first I thought that it was just the top that needed to be re-done, but then I realized that the skirt wasn't made as wide as it needed to be to stand out like an A-line... it was too tight through the hips, even though it was supposed to be made to my measurements.  If I had a smaller waist (or bigger boobs) and had a decent hourglass shape, it might not have been so bad, but I just thought it looked bad on me, and I wasn't willing to pay more to have the skirt let out when I wasn't sure if it could be let out enough to make a difference.Soooo, I will be wearing a dress from Dillards.com that was only $160 and looks great on me, and I'm actually kind of glad that it didn't work out because this new dress is alot lighter and cooler and doesn't have a train that I'm going to be dragging through the dirt. So, anyway, for a full review and pics of the Ebay dress, go here:http://sashasmommy.weebly.com/dress.htmlAnd for pics of the Dillards dress, go here:http://sashasmommy.weebly.com/new-dress.html

• I love your Dillard's dres!! I so glad that it all worked out for you in the end! The Ebay dress really didn't look all that bad on you, but after reading your thoughts on it, I think that you made a good decision not to wear it. Maybe another bride would want to buy it?
• Thanks for the good words on the Dillards dress! The seamstress said that it didn't look bad either, but I did not feel good in it. I don't think I am going to try to sell it because it's not really identifiable by a certain size, it was made to one person's measurements. I think I'm just going to take it to the thrift store, that way people can try it on and see if it looks good on them.
• I thought the Ebay dress looked nice! Ah well, go with what's comfortable. :)
• :-) Thanks... Maybe if I did not have the picture of the model in my head, I would have liked it better. But to me, I just looked kind of short and dumpy compared to her and it made me feel like the dress didn't look good on me.
• I agree with PPs that said it didn't look that bad, but I see where you're coming from. I wouldn't want to look "not that bad" on my wedding day and the models dress vs the dress you ended up with would leave me disappointed, too. I'm happy everything worked out in the end for you! New dress is very pretty!
• i'm so glad you shucked the china dress. from the photos you took of it when you got it, it looked totally home sewn and poorly made but i didn't have the heart to tell you when you posted originally. (i'm a fashion designer and had my own horrible experience with a chinese "dressmaker") the dillards dress is very pretty!
