Has anyone ever bought something from thebridalgowns.com

I found this website http://www.thebridalgowns.com that sells really cheap, direct from China dresses. Has anyone ever bought a dress from them? Good or bad? I'm considering ordering from there but I can't find much inthe way of good or bad online so I figured here's a place to start. Please let me know ifyou've done anything with this company.

  • I've heard a LOT of bad things about drsses from China. I've never heard of that site, but I* have heard of many others that were not good. :(

  • Bad bad bad. I've heard that most knock offs from China are of very poor quality.
  • Here is an example of a gal that ordered from china: http://talk.theknot.com/boards/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=61789556&forumid=15GL! (ps. you may have to take out <br> !!!!)

  • I bought a dress from an online china store called Milly's bridal and I had a really good experience, i also bought my bridesmaids dress from there. They all turned out really well! I had no issues with the quality, compared to my sisters wedding dresses that they bought from bridal shops there was no difference. The bridesmaids dresses turned out really nice as well! I was a bit nervous about ordering at first but I'm really really glad I did. The only thing wrong was I ordered the length to long on my gown because I was nervous about it being to short, but that was my fault of course, and it's being hemmed. • I think you just have to weigh the risks with the benefits.  I've heard horror stories and success stories about China-made gowns.  If money is your main concern, there are many American-based online stores that sell discounted dresses.  Try Pearl's Place.  Or sometimes you can get an excellent deal at a sample sale or when brides are selling their dresses at a reduced price...sometimes the dress hasn't been worn because brides change their plans or want another dress.  Try preownedweddingdresses.com or the Trash to Treasure board.  And David's Bridal has gorgeous, decently priced dresses you can order online.  So keep your options open and good luck finding a beautiful gown.

  • Thanks for all the responses. I'm trying to save some $$$ because I'm really short on it... we're doing it all ourselves with no financial help from anyone so any savings is something. I loved some of the DB dresses I tried on but they were still $300+ and then there's alterations and blah blah... I'm a plus size girl so my options are already limited.
  • The one financial risk I can think of regarding buying from China is that if the dress isn't made right or isn't long enough or just isn't right in some way, you may have to spend a lot of money fixing it or replacing it.  Otherwise, it may be worth it to you to try it.  You could contact Pearl's Place and let them know your concerns and your budget and see if they have any good suggestions.

  • i would never in a million years buy my wedding gown from china.
  • I would warn you not to do it. I ordered my dress and 2 bridesmaids dresses from a different web site from china. The dresses were nothing like the picture and were horrible. The zipper on the wedding dress broke and the brides maid dresses were uneven, the beads on the wedding dress were falling off. I had to buy all new dresses. Plus the shipping charges were really high.
  • i wouldnt think you'd want to put yourself thru some major stress and disappointment about your wedding dress. these knock off sites charge a min of $150 for a knock off dress of poor quality and make. add in the shipping charges as well as the alteration fees and time investmt to take the dress to a seamstress to actually fix the dress- you would be spending a great deal more than if you had just bought something at DB.
