Alteration help!!!! Please!

My dilema... I found a wedding dress this weekend that I fell in LOVE with.. problem, it's a woman's size, and the smallest one they have is a 14W (measurements 41 bust, 33 waist and 44 hips).. my measurements are 39-40 bust, 32 waist and 36 hips. It's Allure Bridal W230 http://www.allurebridals.org/womens.html if you want to take a peek at it and let me know if you think I could alter it enough, I am trying to find a sample dress in that size to try on (I tried a 20W on)... Please let me know if you think it might be possible, the salon I tried it on was of no help!!!! Thank you sooo much for any advice you might have!

I would consult a professional, independent seamstress in your area. Ask your local board for recommendations.

I don't think the alts would be that big of a deal.  It doesn't sound like your measurements are that far off.  Try being pear-shaped like me... My hips are much wider than my bust measurement so every time I've needed a dress altered, the seamstress has had to take the top down several sizes.  it's never been an issue.
