brides againg breast cancer sale?

Has anyone been to one of these? There is one coming in my area in a few weeks and wondering what to expect.

Re: brides againg breast cancer sale?

  • I went to one at the end of Apr.They have a lot of selection in every size. Be aware that these are donated gowns, so if you find something inspect it! Ask to take it out in the natural light so you can see if there is any discoloration. I believe their policy is no returns exchange only, but if they're not coming back to your city you won't have that opportunity. When I went they were very helpful and treated me so well.
  • I'm normally a lurker on this board, but I worked at a brides against breast cancer sale in the spring so I can give you an idea! There are a lot of dresses in a lot of different sizes. Sizes range from 2-28. All of the gowns have been donated by bridal salons or by other brides. They are all in good condition. There were a lot of David's Bridal dresses, but they also have some couture dresses as well. They also have tons of veils to try on and purchase. The supply of veils was endless! They have headpieces, crinolines and shoes available as well. I bought by crinoline there for $18 and it normally retails for $65!  The "dressing rooms" are open so be sure to wear full underwear and bring a strapless bra. Unless you don't mind people seeing you in your undies!! When the event first opens, it is very busy. I would suggest going a few hours after opening. There are a lot of volunteers there to help you get dressed and assist where needed. Everyone is very friendly and willing to help. Prices range from $100-$1,000+ The couture dresses are more expensive. You can get a really great dress for a great price no doubt!I reccommend this to anyone who has the chance to go. It was a lot of fun to volunteer and it was an even better feeling helping ladies find the dresses of their dreams!! I outfitted one girl with the perfect dress, headpiece, veil and crinoline. It was a one stop shop for her!Have fun. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

  • Thanks for so much info! I'm going next week; though we do plan to be there at the opening hour on the preview "pay to go" day. Can you tell me... are the dresses seperated by used vs new and what about by designer? I've already shopped to have an idea of what I am looking for and what designer(s) I prefer--is that an option? Thanks again, super helpful! Jenn
  • Everything is sorted by size, not by designer or what is new/used.
