Hi gals, Just brought my dress in for my first fitting and the bill came to $400+ for alterations. Yikes...had a little panic about the cost. The store only had a 10 in the dress I liked. My bust measured out to be a 6, waist 8 and hips 10...nice pear shape:)....so I ordered an 8....and that ended up being too big. How do you know? As for the alterations, I needed it hemmed, taken in on the sides, bustled and pressed. Does that sound like a reasonable amount for this? Just curious. I am in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
