Losing weight

Ok I probably won't need to shop for a dress for another 6 months. So should I try to lose weight? I just recently had a baby but she passed away and now I have this unwanted baby fat. Is that enough time to at least lose some weight? Thanks a million everyone :)

  • I think that is plenty of time to lose weight and tone up.  Add exercise [cardio + strength training], and assess your diet to see what changes need to be made.  Come over to the Getting in Shape board, there are a lot of ladies over there with great advice, and there's a lot of support and motivation over there.I'm really sorry for you loss.

  • I'm sorry for your loss. I just went dress shopping for the first time last Saturday and I was not pleased with how I looked in the mirror. If you want to lose weight, go ahead. I'm doing that now, will go back to shop to try on dresses again. I was disappointed because the dresses I liked I could not try on due to my weight....and I'm not that heavy....but I won't order a dress if I can't try it on.Good luck.
  • hi girlie i just was inj the oleg post, remember? you asked how much my dress was, it was 1,050 but i got 200 dollars off cause of a sale they had at davids bridal...and im sorry for your loss what happened? im so so sorry i have 2 kids myself and i just cant imagine...i kept telling myself i would lose weight and i didnt LOL. i am not a big girl but im not small i am just an average size woman, kinda thicker lol. the thing about alot of these dresses is that they suck everything in! with the dress i got my stomach was sucked in because i wore a bodice /bra thing underneath, and then the corset top of my dress helped too. sure, i cant hardly breathe, but its so worth it lol

  • No one but you can decide if you should lose weight.  It sounds like the extra fat is unwanted to go for it!  That is definately enough time.  I've been working out and eating right since May 11 and have lost 20 pounds.  That's only in 4 months!  I work out 5 days a week (cardio w/weights for 45 min) and walk my dog on the weekends and eat right.  You can do it!For me it was the same as PP, I went wedding dress shopping and HATED the way I looked.  I knew I'd gained weight at wanted it off.You should do it for yourself.  I too am so sorry to hear of your loss and send you my sympathy!
  • My daughter Joclyn was born 3 months premature and had alot of heart, bowel, blood pressure, and other numerous problems from the start. I loved her from the start and it has been hard. But thanks everyone. Right now I can't do much because my fiance just lost his job so we are on 1 income.
