I'm bummed that salons in my area won't allow pics!

I'd love to take pics of the dresses I try on and post them for opinions like other girls do, but none of the salons in my area allow pictures until you order a dress. Argh! I'm so jealous looking at other pics!!

Did you ask your local board for recommendations for salons that DO allow pics? I went to one salon that gladly allowed me to take pics. I was there by myself so I don't know if that made a difference, since I didn't have anyone there to give me opinions. It's in New Jersey, though, so that won't help you. But maybe your local girls can help. And doesn't David's Bridal allow you to take pics? Maybe Group USA as well?

I feel your pain! The salon where I bought my dress wouldn't allow us to take pics either. They said that I can take pics once my dress comes in, but I would really have liked to have a pic of myself in the dress now. The whole day was such a blur, I'm having a hard time remembering what the dress looked like on me!

The salon where I bought my dress would only let me take photos once I'd ordered it. So annoying!

They just don't want you taking the dress to a seamstress and asking them to duplicate it. David's allowed all the pics we wanted, Alfred Angelo let us take pictures the first time we went in with my friend but not the second.

I also feel your pain. I couldn't take pics of my dress either! It has been so painful waiting for it to be delivered.I ordered it in April and it is finally supposed to be delivered tomorrow! I can't wait to go get some pics of me in the dress! :-) I agree with one of the pp's... try to sneak a pic in the dressing room. I so wish I would have done this!!!

Jodi- are you on the Seattle board?  I thought I saw you on there, Pearls and Lace in Burien lets you take pics!!  And they are the sweetest people ever!  They let me try on dresses for 2 and a half hours!  There was also no one else in the store though.

Yeah I wanted to take pics at this one salon to compare to what I thought was the dress that was at another salon that did let me take pics. In the end I went with the salon that was more accomodating.

I live in NYC and all of the salons I've been to have a no-pic policy. I don't think any of them allow it. I got pictures from either sneaking them when the consultants left the room (Kleinfelds) or a being allowed to "unofficially"snap a cell phone pic in some of the smaller boutiques.
