Veil help please!

Hi,I have finally found and purchased a dress that I absolutely love, Impressions #2992 , but  now I am torn about what type of veil to wear. The dress has a dramatic train that starts at my shoulders. I would like to show it off as I walk down the aisle, so I was thinking about doing a short birdcage veil (a la 40's glamor), but a cathedral veil also looks nice. Before I bought the dress, veils were not that important to me. I just new that I wanted one. I am having a terrible time deciding! Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!Link: http://houseofbrides.com/product.php?productid=34362&cat=484&page=10

Re: Veil help please!

  • Personally, I'd wear a cathedral veil to emphasize the beautiful long line of that train. You could do both... have the cathedral veil for the ceremony and then change into the birdcage veil for the reception. Is the train removable? I think the birdcage veil would look better with the train either removed or at least bustled.

  • I disagree that the cathedral veil would cover up the train. I think it would actually emphasize it.I could be wrong, but from the picture, it doesn't look like there's any embroidery, beading on the train, so the veil wouldn't be covering up any detail. The drama of the train comes from the fact that it starts at the shoulders and is so long, so that's why I think a long veil would emphasize that. It's not like you won't be able to see the train at all... veils are see-through, after all.
