At the time I thought the dress was the one since my friends and the bridal consultants thought I looked beautiful in the gown, but now I am have second thoughts and buyer’s remorse because I don’t believe the dress is for me or my style. I am aware that having second thoughts about the dress is not uncommon so I retried the dress on and tried to convince myself that the gown I purchase was still the one. However, to my dismay I am no longer excited about the gown after trying it on again and decided to look once more at bridal dresses. After looking once more, I discovered an Allure Exclusive gown (style 2211, link below) that I absolutely love! Casablanca Gown - http://www.casablancabridal.com/collections/view/8/155 Allure Gown - http://www.allurebridals.com/index.php?id=3&product_id=296 My question is how many of you brides have had second thoughts about your gown and ended up finding a different one that you absolutely loved. What did you end up doing with your original gown? Has anyone had luck selling their gowns? I am considering selling my first gown since it was the bridal store’s stock dress but I am afraid that I may not be able to sell the gown and therefore not be able to purchase the new dress that I have found. My street size is a size 6, but the original Casablanca stock gown that I purchased is a size 12 (which I had planned to alter, but now that I have found another gown the Casablanca dress still remains to be unaltered and has only been tried on a few times. Any advice would be welcome!

Re: Second Thoughts, remorse....

  • I haven't purchased my dress yet, but my fav I keep going back and forth on. I think second thoughts are common for several brides, I'm not sure how many change after they purchased a dress though. I think that's why so many people say to stop looking after you found the dress you like.See if you can post your old dress on ebay or even on here. Sorry I have no better advice for you. Good luck.
  • It is definitely common to have second thoughts (very common)! And...a lot of brides (like myself) change their minds completely and buy a new gown. I was very blessed because I was able to get a full refund on my original gown. A couple sites that you could post your gown if you can't get a refund: craigslist ebay oncewed preownedweddingdresses weddingbee - classifieds weddingbycolor - market place and of course here :)
  • Thanks Ladies! I'll definitely give those websites a try!
