What dress for a petite bride...

So I thought I knew everything. But I don't know where to look. Can you point me in the correct direction. Are there certain styles and designers that are better for a petite and curvy bride? Thanks

  • You'll never know what's the best shape for you until you start trying dresses on. Usually an A-line dress is good for any body type but you should try on all shapes to see what you like. Good luck.

  • It depends on your body type and what you like. If you're short and thin try sheath, mermaid, or trumpet.  The fitted look makes you look taller.Short and heavy try a-line.  Pickups usually work well.  I wouldn't do ball gown.
  • Yeah, I know for sure no ball gowns. I just wasn't sure if there were certain designers that "specialized" in dress for petite brides.
  • Some of them do have the option to order the dress in petite.  It would be a few inches shorter than the one you try on.  Just ask when you try them on if it's available.  It would save on the cost of alterations.
  • I'm 5'1 and curvy and I can tell you A-lines work the best!
