Need sizing advice

My daughter picked out an Alexia bridesmaid's dress for her BP. She got a price from netbride that was $60 less than the discounted price from the bridal salon (including shipping costs!). The girls were all ready to order from netbride. One of the BM had her measurements taken professionally and based on Alexia's size chart, should easily fit into a twelve (she's a street size 10). Problem is...she tried the sample on in the store, which was a 12, and it's clearly too tight on her. While we know to order her a 14, how do we determine what sizes to order for the other girls? The dress is very fitted, so there's no real room for mistakes.

Re: Need sizing advice

  • I would only order from a salon, never online. The advantage with salons is they know how the vendor fits and will order the size you need. They also know how to alter the dresses they sell. I would think long and hard about ordering online
  • search online for Alexia's sizing chart, it's totally out there...have girls take their measurements and compare to chart...THIS IS ALL THEY DO IN SALONS and often times in salons they order big on purpose (I hear it all the time) so they can make money on alterations.  See if other girls can go to bridal salons and try on dresses by that designer (even if it's not the right sample you can get an idea of fit by designer).  If it's tight go bigger because the sample in store is likely stretched a little bit Netbride and similar options are the way to go, did this for my wedding and my sisters.People should take their best guest...the money they save by going with netbride will still be cheaper if they end up needing to have it taken in
