Re: Ordering your Dress Online

• I ordered my dress from Pearl's Place.  It has not come in yet but so far they have been very helpful and seem highly recommended on this board.

• Thanks Ladies I'll give them a try
• DONT DO IT!! i have literally heard horror stories about imposter dresses and such from ordering online. most designers will even say they dont sell to online vendors so that says alot right there. the internet is great  for buying alot of things, but not bridal apparel. Good luck!
• I was thinking the same thing too...I'm just gonna pay for it through a bridal salon...Better Safe than SorryThanks Again,
• kgsmiles Pearls place and Jay's bridal are real bridal salons. Pearls place is in New Orleans (I think) and Jay's is in Gainesville, FL. They are both reputable dealers of the dresses they sell. I actually went to Jay's in Gainesville but purchased online because their online price was a little lower than in the store (my sales lady actually advised me to do it that way to save me a bit more money).

• Pearl's Place has a wonderful reputation and I and friends have ordered there and nothing but the best to say about that store. A real vendor for all of their companies.
• Im looking to buy my dress online also as no one in Australia stocks the Watters brand. Has anyone delt with Halfbridal.com Any info would be great...!!!
• Just an FYI- traditional bridal shops aren't completely trustworthy either, and they certainly aren't immune to the downfalls in the economy.  In my town, there are several stores that have gone out of business with no notice, locked their doors, and left brides high and dry without their gowns.  Neither avenue is without its problems, but ordering online is perfectly safe as long as you purchase from a company that has a good reputation.  Netbride.com and Pearlsplace.com have been around for many many years (and also have brick and mortar stores in Minnesota and Louisiana respectively).  I've been on the Knot for years and can tell you that I've never seen a negative review for either of them!  I used both for my wedding and had a great experience.  As for topbridaldresses and best dress prices, I don't think they've been around as long so I would proceed with caution.

• I bought my dress online from lilywedding.com  The dress I got is almost identical to one at David's Bridal (PA).  I wound up paying $278 for my dress and shipping and handling.  It also included a free veil, free petticoat, and free pins for my hair.  I may not use them, but they were free.  I ordered my dress on August 17th and received it on Sept. 2nd.  The dress is very good quality and only needs minor alterations.
