What color for Bridesmaids shoes?

My Bridesmaids will be wearing tea-length dresses in a green color. About the same color as Davids Bridal's "clover" color. Our wedding colors are green and purple. What color shoes should they wear? I think green shoes and a green dress will be too much green. What do you think? TIA!

Re: What color for Bridesmaids shoes?

  • My girls were in the same color and I had them choose champagne colored shoes (or gold but not shiny) and it looked great. Pictures in my married bio if you want to see.

  • I would ask them to wear silver sandals of their choice. Gold sandals would also work. When you go to a party or a wedding and wear a pretty dress, I'm betting that you don't go out and get shoes to match your outfit, right? You pick a neutral shoe that coordinates with your dress. So you don't need green shoes for bridesmaids, either ... you should "coordinate," not necessarily "match." If you coordinate, things can be in different colors (this is where neutrals are your friend) ... but if you try and match everything, you'll likely drive yourself nuts. Plus it'll look like Green Overload if everything is exactly the same color. And green shoes will draw icky attention to their feet, whereas a neutral like silver or gold will blend in.

  • I think silver or champagne would be great. I also agree about letting them pick their own shoes...same color, but the style of their choosing.

  • Ditto gold! Pretty combo.
  • satin gold or champagne would be my first choice...then silver.  I think black or brown will be too harsh.
