Plus Size Dresses

I am beginning my search for my dress and I am a plus sized girl. Anybody have places that you would recommend for trying on/finding a plus size wedding dress? Thank you so much.

Ask your local board for suggestions. My local board was able to recommend a few salons that carry plus-sized samples ... but I'm in New Jersey and that won't help you if you're from Colorado.I was able to fit comfortably into Group USA dresses, and many people recommend David's Bridal as well. Also, keep an open mind about trying things on. The dress I wound up buying is not what I had originally thought I wanted.

becca- I live in South Denver too & am plus sized. I found my dress at Chiyo's in Aurora (not much to look at from the outside but they had several plus sized (sixe 20 or so) samples. I hope you find something that works! (Another idea is to go to Davids Bridal & just try on different styles since they have lots of plus sized samples) and then once you've narrowed it down you can search for that style in a plus size sample at an independent salon if you want. I ended up with a Maggie Sottero that I LOVED! :)
no identifiable siggy pictures anymore, thanks a lot stupid nest!

oh & ditto to pp...keep an open mind! I 100% thought I wanted a halter style dress & after trying on several of them they all made me look really stalky/short. I really didn't want a strapless dress but agreed with the stylist to try on one of each style of dress & the strapless was most flattering. Go figure! LOL

Davids is a good place to start, they have tons of different styles in all sizes, it's a good way to figure out a style that you like.  It's always good to try lots on, because you never know what might be flattering. Also try your local board to see what stores around might have some plus sizes to try on.Good Luck, Happy Shopping.

David's Bridal always has alot of plus sized dresses to try on. It's a great way to find a style that looks good on you. Otherwise I highly reccomend calling ahead to different bridal stores in your area, let them know your size and see if they carry any to tey on or can get some you might like for you to try on and than set an appointment.

I'm also in Denver and agree with PP - Chiyos was nothing fancy, but they had a large variety of sizes. Most of the shops I went to had at least a couple racks worth of plus sized gowns. Also try Amanda's and D'Anelli's. And there's a place called A Total Image Bridal Warehouse. It's not fancy, but it isn't actually a warehouse either. They have so many dresses that I never even got through them all, but I'm 99% sure they had a whole room dedicated to plus size gowns. GL!
