Buying my dress from the store

So the dress I found is at the store and I guess its a "sample dress" and is 760. . .if I ordered one it would be an extra 20 to order and probably wouldn't be here in time for my wedding. The dress does look brand new, but is it possible to ask for additional discounts or for the store to throw in something extra is this is a sample dress??If yes, how would you do it?

Re: Buying my dress from the store

  • It definitely can't hurt at all to ask for a little discount for purchasing the sample dress.  Some stores are completely willing to do this, and other stores are not.
  • yeah, I was going to ask tonight when I went to put the dress on a second time to show my MOH but we got there like 10 mins before they were closing and I didnt want to hold them up. Plus everyone seemed a bit rushed and I didnt want to step on any toes or insult them . . Is it normal to require extra money for ordering a dress?? I havent seen this at many other stores.

  • It's absolutely normal.  It's always cheaper to buy a sample than to order a dress.  I am wearing a pink gown, but the sample I tried on was in white.  The store offered to sell me the sample dress for $200 less, but I didn't want a white dress so I didn't get it.  Samples are still new dresses.  Just "sampled" just like clothes are in department stores.  But absolutely ask for them to throw in something else.  Can't hurt, can it?

  • Simply just ask if they could bring down the price a bit.  Whether it's for a new dress or a sample dress, just ask to see if they could do better. It doesn't hurt and it worked for us.
