Mid-price stores in NY?

Hi guys! I'm going to NY in two weeks to shop for dresses, and I have appts at the usual places (Kleinfeld, Pronovias, etc.) but I'm actually hoping to find a dress in the range of 1k-2k (if not cheaper!). Does anyone have any ideas for places (or designers) I could check out in this range? I'm looking for something pretty simple (outdoor wedding, probably shift-style or A-line without too much volume) and I'm partial to details made with fabric or ruching rather than beading, etc.Thanks in advance!

RK bridal carries a wide variety and had lots of dresses in the 1-2K range. I may be going there myself this weekend to see what they have. Its right in the fashion district (west side of mid-town). Their web site is www.rk.bridal.com. Not the fanciest site - but it gives you hours and location etc. Good luck! I can't wait to start looking this weekend myself!

If you would be willing to go over to New Jersey, stop by the North Jersey board (#90) and ask for recommendations. We have a busy board and could definitely suggest some nice places for you.

Definitely try RK Bridal, but be prepared for long waits. Maybe also try H&S Bridal.

I went to a small boutique called The White Gown in Brooklyn. It's in a nice area and the employees are sooo nice. I actually purchased my gown there last Saturday. I would so recommend them

if you go to RK- make sure you add your name to the waiting list that's posted by the dressing rooms RIGHT when you get there. then take your time looking around the store. if you go on the weekend you might be waiting for an hour to try on your dresses. GL!
