Preggers! When to Buy Dress

My boyfriend and I of 3 years are newly engaged.  Right after the engagement...we learned that I'm pregnant by about 4 weeks.  Big surprise to us both!  We've decided not to rush wedding planning and wait until after the baby arrives.  We still want the wedding we were planning which will be thousand miles away from where we live now so as to be close to our families.  We've decided to focus on baby now, wedding later.But so when should I buy a dress?!?  Now before I get all big a pregnant (and chance dress regret....I think the wedding won't be until May/June 2011) or do I wait until after the baby comes and then take on looking for a dress while I'm still working to lose the baby weight?  I guess it's always easier to take in a dress than it is to let it out!  Any advice?  Anyone else find themselves in my shoes?  Lots on my plate right now, any advice would be appreciated!!

Congratulations on your engagement and expecting! I would definitely wait until after you have the baby. Like you said, it's easier to take a dress in than let it out. You will most definitely change your mind by 2011. What style you like now may not be what you are looking for in two years.

Congrats!! I would wait until after you have the baby. That way you will have a little time to get your body back to normal. You can always start looking for ideas sooner, but I would wait until next fall to think about buying anything.

Definitely wait until after. Even though I lost all the 60+ pounds I gained while pregnant, my body is a lot different. I would not have looked the same in my dress pre-pregnancy than I do now, almost 2 years later. Congrats on expecting, though! Babies are AMAZING!!

Congrats!! How exciting. A wise decision to wait on the wedding and focus on the baby. Definitely wait until after the baby comes to buy anything. Like pp said you will change your mind in two years. Also loosing the weight after the baby comes is not that difficult (breastfeeding helps a lot). Focus on the little one now. the wedding can wait, even though i know you must be ecstatic.

Yay a baby and a wedding!I would also wait until after the baby.  I heard breast feeding burns a ton of calories and helps get your body back, plus sooo many new dresses will be available and you might like the new styles better.

Thank you all so much for your replys and congratulatory wishes!  Each day it becomes more and more real to my boyfriend and I that we are going to become parents - and it's this special event we feel we have to focus on.  Buying a wedding dress and worrying about losing the baby weight will all come in time - for now it's baby time!Thanks again
