Experiences ordering your dress online?

Hello Ladies, I have found "the dress" in a bridal shop here, but I have also found it online for cheaper (about $200 less). It is NOT a knock off dress; it is just an online shop. Have any of you ordered your dresses offline? I am a little nervous about it, but I would love to save some money! I also wanted to see if you had someone steam your dress once it was shipped. If so, how much was it to do that? Any other things to be considered when ordering online?

  • I did the same as you, found it in a bridal shop then found it online $280 cheaper with a free veil and shoes. So really like $500 savings. I received my dress in one week. Seriously. Way sooner than I expected but it is nice to have that officially checked off the list. I ordered mine from bestbridalprices.com I will see if my alterations person can steam it. I'm not sure how much that is... If not, maybe I'll take it to a dry cleaner's to steam?
  • I ordered mine from bestbridalprices.com and the service was great, I even canceled and reordered and they didn't charge me any more money. My dress is ok, just what I expected but I don't like the fit on me, my only advice is to try on the dress you want in a shop, which you have, and you should have no problems. I'm having a destination wedding in Jamaica and they will press my dress for $20.
  • I ordered mine from Jay's Bridal online and the service was great. I tired the dress on at their actual store but ordered it online because it was cheaper. I also got a free veil and shipping. As for the steaming, I needed alterations and then they steamed the dress for me after the final fitting.

  • im all about ordering things online, we did for several weddings BM dresses, paper, invites, veils, shoes... but THE dress i just wouldn't feel comfortable.  knowing it's in an authorized relator shop and i can go there, etc. is worth the savings.
