XP: Redesigning Mom's Dress

So, my mom has been hinting that she would love me to wear her wedding dress... My mom was married in 1986 so you can imagine what it looks like. (think lace cream puff with sleeves) 

I thought that maybe I could look into having a dress custom made using the fabric and lace from her dress but reworking it into something that is a little more my style. 

Has anyone done this? Just looking for more inspiration and advice.

There is another girl on TK is doing this and her dress looks AMAZING. I don't know her name, but hopefully she'll see this thread or someone else will know who she is.

I'm using my mom's veil to wrap around my bouquet as a way of incorporating it into my outfit.

I think this is what achiduck is referring to...
